It takes around 4-5 hours drive to Denge Village, plus a 3-4 hour trek to Wae Rebo. Total travel time is approximately 8-9 hours.
2. Is the trek to Wae Rebo difficult?
The trek is moderate. The 7 km trail goes uphill through rainforest. Basic fitness is recommended. You can also use a local ojek for part of the trail.
3. Can I visit Wae Rebo in just one day?
No. Due to the long drive and trekking time, an overnight stay is required. We offer a 2D1N tour as the shortest option.
4. Where do we sleep in Wae Rebo?
You will stay overnight in a traditional Mbaru Niang house. You’ll sleep on a mattress with blanket on the wooden floor, just like the locals.
5. Are meals included in the tour?
Dinner and breakfast in Wae Rebo Village is included. and lunch are not included. We will stop at local restaurants in Ruteng for lunch on Day 2.
6. What should I bring for the tour?
Trekking shoes, raincoat, light clothes, camera, power bank, sunscreen, insect repellent, and cash for meals and tips.
7. Is the tour suitable for children or seniors?
Yes, but it depends on fitness level. The trek can be tiring. Children 8+ and active seniors are welcome. Ojek option is available to make it easier.
